Hi, I’m Paige Waggoner, founder of My Sunkissed House.
From a young age, I was taught the importance of what you put into your body and how it affects your overall health and well-being. Because of health issues in our family, my mom was forced to raise us eating only organic, whole foods. She also began making many of our products, like body butters and soaps. I grew up in what I like to call an “ingredient household,” with cabinets full of supplements, Brazil nuts, and anything organic.
At the time, being young, I didn’t fully understand the importance of this lifestyle — but looking back, I’m incredibly grateful. It shaped the way I care for my body today.
It wasn’t until college that I began a wellness journey of my own. My roommate experienced health issues, which brought me back to how I was raised. As I saw how much food and personal care products affected her, I began reading every label and questioning every ingredient. Little by little, I started switching everything I put in and on my body to non-toxic alternatives.
After college, I worked at a hot yoga studio and spent my time there dreaming about what I would do next. I was introduced to beef tallow by a customer and purchased it from a small business I found on TikTok. Tallow is an ingredient cherished for its nutrient density, skin compatibility, and ability to provide deep, lasting moisture without unnecessary additives. I was amazed by how much my skin loved it and the changes I noticed almost overnight.
While I loved the results, I couldn’t stand the smell on its own — so I began experimenting with additional ingredients and essential oils. I kept creating, researching, and sharing with my family, and soon they fell in love with it too.
Not long after, a friend asked me to create non-toxic sunscreen bars for her to sell at her pop-ups alongside her coconut water brand, Surfing Coconuts, where she sells the best coconut water straight from the coconut. I created a formula I truly loved and was able to supply my “Sun Bars” to her.
This experience sparked my passion for creating products made with real ingredients — free from harmful chemicals — for people to enjoy in the sun. Living in Florida, I spend a lot of time outdoors and knew there was a real need for non-toxic sun care. I wanted to create products that changed the conversation around the sun — that it isn’t something to fear. I began to understand how healing the sun truly is, and how negative effects often come from what we put on our skin, not the sun itself.
From that spark, I decided to start my own business, knowing nothing about where to begin or where it would lead. I trusted the process and continue to learn every day. It has been more fulfilling and exciting than I ever imagined.
